Day 2—Uneventful Tuesday evening and today, Wednesday!
Slight uneasiness last night (Tuesday), fever, headache as predicted, little nausea. I slept well.
I woke with a headache, took my drugs and 2 Advil, ate my 20 grams of fat (almond cereal and milk), rested and read, took a nap, woke up at 10 and felt ‘normal.’
Hey, what’s going on? I’m supposed to be, well, all sorts of put out. Instead, I enjoyed a brisk 30-minute walk in beautiful, warm sunshine, bought some high-fat items at Whole Foods – really goes against my habits to buy butter, heavy cream, and red meat. But there you have it – 20 grams of fat three times a day with Incivek.
When I got back at 12 I was tired (they said to expect fatigue). I ate my hamburger at 3 with my pills, got some – not much – nausea, and spent the rest of the day tired, reading a novel I brought with me, “Work Song,” quick read, started last night, finished today.
So, I think I’m okay really. All my prep and I breezed through the worst night of the treatment, so Cindy said. Just to guard now against anemia (red meat, Jane said to try chicken livers for the iron content) and the dreaded RASH. I have bottles of oil and lotion everywhere around the house and rub it on the most likely areas to be affected (shins, upper back, chest) several times a day. My skin has never been so soft.
Can’t think why to keep up this blog. Thanks for your support. I’m happy to report IT IS ALL GOOD!
